Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.  CPA a plus. 

• Five years of practical experience in a leadership position for the accounting function of a company.

• Must possess strong analytical skills and an ability to interpret accounting literature and auditing standards.

• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  In addition, the job necessitates interpersonal skills for team building; communicating and listening, establishing rapport, resolving conflicts, and understanding and accommodating differences.

• Excellent computer skills and must be very proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications.

Engineer Telecommunications - Ld/Sr (#080210)

Develops engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Company’s generation, transmission, distribution, telecommunication, or other utility facilities/systems.

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support Company objectives, utilizing engineering methods.
  • Develop highly complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
  • Determine methods and techniques for obtaining results.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Fiber Optic Transport Systems.
  • A minimum of five or more years of directly related experience in fiber optic design as relatede to industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of OPGW and ADSS design and installation procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of underground fiber design and installation procedures.
    Detailed knowledge and experience of fiber optic node design and installation procedures.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • General and specific technical knowledge and familiarity of engineering procedures, NESC standards, theoretical bases, principles, concepts, and techniques relative to fiber optic system design.
  • Ability to analyze data/information and form meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to travel and conduct field work as needed.

A Telecommunications Engineer with utility industry experience and whose responsibilities include: planning, designing, maintaining and architecting communications systems. The Engineer will establish and document all related standards and procedures required to maintain an effective SONET fiber communications network, Telephone Systems including VOIP, Microwave Systems and Trunked Radio Systems. The Engineer will complete activities and initiatives that support the Goals and Objectives of the District Strategic Plan.

May be asked to provide system management of the District’s SONET network and support maintenance operation.

Ensure that all equipment complies with industry standards. Works closely with other departments/organizations.

May be asked to support any of the following: District’s Trunked Radio System, Microwave System, or VOIP Telephone System. Maintains documentation regarding configurations, operating procedures, and service records relating to the systems as listed above. Attends classes, seminars, conferences and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to wide and local area network systems.

Telecom Network Engineer #2725

At Puget Sound Energy (PSE) we have a long tradition of service, and an exciting and innovative future ahead! Consider PSE for the next step in your career.

Join our Telecommunications team in providing the communications infrastructure for all of Puget Sound Energy, Washington State's largest energy utility provider.  Our network is going through exciting growth, both in traditional TDM areas as well as TCP/IP Ethernet networks.  You will be involved in the entire network from physical connectivity up through application management.  We install and operate digital microwave radios, install our own site-to-site fiber, and of course, utilize copper wires--all to provide critical network paths for reliable operation of the gas distribution system and electrical energy grid.

As a Telecom Network Engineer, you will work on the team responsible for maintaining, expanding and improving our network.  We utilize TDM circuits with automated and manual digital cross connects on a variety of DACS, channel bank, bridging and multiplex equipment.  We carry voice, four?]wire data, telemetry, SCADA, two?]way radio and IP traffic across our network.  Your experience with TCP/IP networking, RIP and OSPF will be very useful in our maintenance and control network, as well as providing IP connectivity to our users.  We currently utilize circuits from DS0 to DS3 and from OC?]3 to OC-12.  You should be familiar with AMI and B8ZS T1 line coding and the implications of each. 

You'll be involved with everything related to providing reliable communication, from the highest level of automatic circuit provisioning on down to battery plants, chargers and dc distribution systems.  You will be expected to respond, typically by telephone, to network faults after hours in rotation with several other team members. Part of our team consists of IBEW-represented communications technicians, and you'll be working very closely with them to ensure peak network performance and availability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in engineering, design, construction, operation and maintenance of plesiochronous and SONET telecommunication systems, specifically fiber, microwave and/or leased circuit management
  • Familiarity with Ethernet and TCP/IP protocols
  • Ability to quickly assess and analyze faults in traffic-bearing networks
  • Ability to lead and participate in internal and external teams
  • Ability to manage projects, including schedule, resource allocation and budgets
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, internal clients and suppliers
  • Basic computer and MS Office skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and leading-edge technology developments
  • Understanding of existing PSE telecommunications components and field practice
  • Working knowledge of IP and network issues
  • Basic familiarity with MS Visio
  • Ability to develop and present basic business cases for proposed projects including operational, technical and financial aspects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Washington
