Puget Sound Energy (PSE), the largest energy utility in Washington, is seeking applicants to fill the position of Supervisor, System Operations #3228, with the System Operations Department at its Eastside Operations office located in Redmond, Washington. This position is responsible for providing outage cause information to key accounts, researching and responding to all inquiries related to the electric distribution and transmission system as required. This role is also responsible for directly supervising system operators during night and weekend shifts as well as taking responsibility for all on-site personnel during non-business hours for purposes of building safety, personnel matters, etc. that require a supervisor/manager. The System Supervisor role is vital in managing key customer outage communications and emergency response activities including storm response. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supervise system operations personnel.
• Update management on the system reliability during storms or other unscheduled outages.
• Notify internal and external customers of the distribution status.
Required:
• Knowledge of the electric transmission and distribution system.
• Knowledge of the codes, construction, standards, work practices, and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work in various shift scenarios covering 7x24 hour customer service.
Desired:
• Knowledge of the CLX Outage Management system, CMS system, and SAP
• Proficient in spreadsheet and database applications.

The PSE System Operations group is currently looking for a System Operator Training and Standards Consultant (Job #2974) to be responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the System Operator Training Program. In addition, this position is responsible for the development and maintenance of switching standards, Standard Operating Practices, and improvements and modification recommendations for the computer equipment used in System Operations.
The System Operator Training and Standards Consultant provides First Aid, CPR and AED training; and Community Emergency Response Training for PSE personnel. This position works closely with the Safety department in investigating, tracking, developing and distributing reports and analysis of safety related issues or incidents. This role will also participate as a member of numerous committees and will be advising other departments in the company, so a successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people including management and representatives from various departments while being able to earn the trust and respect of the System Operators who control most of the equipment on the electrical power system.

System Operator Training and Standards Consultant is a vital component to Puget Sound Energy’s operations, and ensures that our System Operators are properly trained to work on these facilities safely.

Required:
- Five years demonstrated knowledge of real-time system operation activities including electric utility distribution operations including knowledge of codes, construction, standards, work practices, and regulations.
- Demonstrated technical training skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to work with, coach and develop diverse employees
- Ability to work and supervise under stressful conditions
Desired:
- BA/BS Degree
- Completion of System Operations Training Program
- Knowledge of Transmission, Distribution and Generation System Operations
- Knowledge of the MWF, CLX, SAP, DMS and EMS computer systems
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient in spreadsheet, word processor and database applications
- PSE Business acumen.
- Certified First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor
- Certified Community Emergency Response Instructor
