Merced ID owns/operates the Merced River Hydroelectric Project located on the Merced River in Mariposa County, California.  The project includes two developments - Exchequer and McSwain – each of which include one reservoir (Lake McClure and McSwain Reservoir) and one powerhouse (New Exchequer and McSwain powerhouses) generating 103 megawatts.

BA degree from an accredited college or university, unless exceptionally qualified by relevant experience, professional engineer preferred. A minimum of 10 years experience. in hydroelectric operations and maintenance with at least 3 yearrs experience as a manager of a substantial hydroelectric facility.  Possession of an appropriate CA Driver's License. Live in District provided housing located at the Hydro Project.

Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of hydroelectric production facilities; and all Federal and State regulations pertaining to operations, maintenance and relicensing of hydroelectric facilities.  Ability to represent the District in matters before regulatory agencies, in the community and at professional meetings; investigate and implement economic facility improvements and the use of current maintenance methods, techniques, equipment and materials.

As the Supervisor, we need someone who can understand and be able to administer NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) requirements. Assignments involve a substantial degree of complexity, with many interrelated elements, requiring considerations not previously encountered. The Supervisor will also support emergency response operations when needed.

  • Provides oversight for issuance of debt for the Utility. Interacts with Bond Counsel, Financial Advisors, the City's Law Department and Department of Finance in the preparation of documents required for the issuance of bonds. 
  • Provides oversight, leadership, and monitoring for newly created corporate performance initiatives for financial benchmarking measurements and process improvement metrics, including but not limited to capital program prioritization, programmatic budgeting, and customer service.  Ensures compliance through internal audits with federal, state, and City guidelines.
