| Duties: | General Summary: Under the direction of the Electrical Systems Supervisor or designee, operates and maintains electrical revenue metering and substation equipment; performs maintenance, repair, tests and calibrations on all types of electrical energy metering; performs underground fault locating and construction, fabrication and welding as needed. Subject to 24-hour callout for emergency situations. |
| Experience Required: | Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of one of the following apprenticeships: Journeyman Meter Technician, Journeyman Relay Technician or Journeyman Substation Electrician and three (3) years of direct Journeyman level experience. Proficiency in a Windows based computing environment, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Valid Washington State drivers license upon hire date. First Aid Card and CPR Certification within three (3) months of hire date.
Desirable Qualifications: Four (4) years of direct journeman level experience. Three (3) years of direct experience installing, programming, testing and troubleshooting protective relays, revenue meters or substation maintenance equipment. Documented education and training in more than one of the following journeyman classifications: Meter Technician, Relay Technician or Substation Electrician. Prior experience or training performing underground fault location and programming PLCs. Prior fabrication and welding experience.
Selection will be based on qualifications and an oral board interview process. |
